Quick question: book or series first?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I just found out The House of the Spirits<\/em>\u2014my all-time favorite book\u2014is becoming a TV series\u2026 and I am emotionally unwell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You know that feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When a story lives perfectly in your head. The characters, the tone, the pace\u2026 all exactly how it should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then someone decides to \u201cadapt\u201d it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which usually means: simplify it, speed it up, and remove everything that made it powerful in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And it made me think about how we treat content in marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We love shortcuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summaries. Clips. Quick takes. \u201cJust give me the highlights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when you skip the original, you miss the depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You miss the thinking behind it.
The nuance.
The parts that actually make it worth reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same thing happens when we publish content and just\u2026 leave it there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No context.
No voice.
No amplification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just hoping people will \u201cget it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They won\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good content needs support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you share something and add your perspective\u2014even one line\u2014you\u2019re doing what a good adaptation should do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re giving the original more life, not less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re helping people discover it the right way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because great marketing doesn\u2019t just create content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It respects it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yes\u2026 read the book first. Always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
